Student Crime Stoppers

The Chisum Student Crime Stoppers program is a unique opportunity for students to be involved in keeping their school safe.  The program is a partnership involving schools, law enforcement, the media, and the community.  The program falls under the umbrella of Lamar County Student Crime Stoppers which includes Chisum and Paris High Schools.  Each school is encouraged to tailor the Student Crime Stoppers program to its specific needs, but all schools promote the safety of students on each campus and provide a system where students can anonymously report information that could prevent a crime or lead to disciplinary action after a crime has occurred.

Students may also attend a conference to learn what it takes to operate a campus program, create publicity, raise funds, organize media projects, and how to contribute to a productive board meeting.

Students who serve on the Chisum Student Crime Stoppers board learn leadership skills as they administer their program, work with Lamar County Crime Stoppers, volunteer, and increase student involvement in making Chisum a safer place.
